Emerson E. Harris, Sr. 60, former employee of the Farmers Creamery & Hoosier Crown died Monday night at the home of a son, David Harris, Covington Street. He had been in failing health the past year. Born Sept 23, 1891, near Waynetown, Mr. Harris was the son of William and Sarah Harris. He married Pearl McCoy of this city Nov 19, 1910. Surviving besides the son at whose home he died are another son, Emerson H. Harris, Jr. of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Staton of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Betty Gunderman of Indianapolis and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by the wife and a daughter, Carrie Catherine. Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with burial at Oak Hill cemetery, Rev William D. Eckel will officiate. - kbz
